Buppy. is the brainchild of Utah native Edward Kingston—a project born from a childhood nickname—now a 22-year-old artist documenting human connection in real time, writing songs out of the people, places, and moments he encounters while backpacking the world. His music is rooted in lived experience, and the small interactions that stay with you long after they pass. Shaped by his roots in a small ski town just outside of Salt Lake City, he developed his sound watching an eclectic mix of artists perform at venues like Kilby Court.

At just 16, Buppy. left home for Los Angeles to pursue music full-time, balancing late-night studio sessions with restaurant shifts while developing his voice as a songwriter. He broke through with comfort, texas and went on to release Cold Nights in Hollywood (2022) and names&places (2023), building a catalog defined by honesty and emotional clarity. The latter project earned praise from Zane Lowe, who called him “a superstar in the making,” alongside support from major platforms and tastemakers.

On stage, Buppy. has become a compelling live performer, appearing at festivals like SXSW and Treefort Fest and sharing the stage with artists including Tommy Richman, Healy, Pardyalone, Arden Jones, DWLLRS, Alt Bloom, Louyah, and Sarah and The Sundays. In 2026, he toured and opened for Schur on a sold-out run, bringing his music into intimate rooms across the country. His latest project, wilson demos, marks a shift toward something more raw and stripped-back—three acoustic songs that explore what it means to love and be loved while coming of age. Intimate and unfiltered, the project reflects the direction he’s moving in: music that prioritizes feeling over perfection, and connection above all else.
